What the estimates mean
PRB reconstructs humans ever born using historical population sizes and assumed birth rates. Prehistoric totals cannot be known exactly.
The current site baseline is anchored to the UN World Population Prospects 2024 revision and is periodically reviewed rather than scraped from another counter.
People share an average birthday date when population is divided by the tropical-year length. Actual dates vary because births are seasonal.
